Summer Learning Journey - Task 8 (Part 1)

 Christmas Art🎄

Welcome back!😁

Today I will be sharing with you my christmas🎄 art decoration🖌️, I decided to do a christmas ornament. First I was thinking to do a christmas tree🎄, then I couldn't decide to do a snowman☃️, christmas lights 🎇or a star🌟. So instead I chose to do a christmas ornament. I got a google drawing and started using shapes and images to make my art.
You can have a go on doing it, all you need to do is register for the summer learning 😁.

I hope you like it!

Summer Learning Journey - Task 7

 Maori Numbers

Welcome

Today I am will be showing you how I count in Maori, this is a video of how I tried counting in maori. You can count along with me if you want! :D

Summer Learning Journey - Task 6

 Draw a Geometree

Welcome

Today I learned about geometry, I will be showing you my art that I did for my geometry task for today. I learned about scalene, isosceles and equilateral. (Scalene is circled in the colour white, isosceles is circled in colour blue & equilateral is circled in orange)

Scalene is a triangle that doesn't quite match anywhere, all sides are in different lengths. No mater how small or big the scalene triangle is, it will always be in different lengths on the sides.

Isosceles is another triangle, this triangle is another different shape. It is because this shape only has 2 sides that are equal to each other, but we know that triangle have 3 sides. So isosceles is a shape with 3 sides but only 2 are equal.

Equilateral is a triangle that is equal on all 3 sides, not one side is different from the rest of the sides. All edges are the same.

Fun Fact:
Did you know that spaceships weren't invented by anyone?! Yes, except a huge team did build spaceships. The first person to fly or pilot a spaceship is Yuri Gagarin in 1961.

MY REFLECTION

NAME: Fatafehi

Date:  29th November 2021

MY REFLECTION:

  • Write your reflection about making the Coronavirus paper mache pinata.

  • Write your reflection into each of the boxes.

  • Once you have written your reflection in each box, you will be combining all your details together into the last box below.

  1. What was the paper mache theme?

  1. What materials did you need?

Our paper mache theme was based on a very contagious

virus that is spreading around the world

at the moment.

The name is ‘Coronavirus’ or ‘Covid-19’.

Before starting our paper mache

pinata we needed some materials:

a balloon, newspaper, PVA glue, water, paint

(silver and white), tin foil, candy or lollies,

a hot glue gun, red wool and yellow string.

  1. What did you use to make the pinata?

  1. How did you feel?

We started of with a few easy steps:

  1. Blow up your balloon (any colour)

  2. Rip strips of newspaper

  3. Mix water and PVA glue together

  4. Get strips and dip it gently in the PVA glue

  5. Stick the news paper on to the balloon

  6. Leave to dry thoroughly

  7. Apply 3 layers of the news paper

  8. Once dried paint 2-3 layers of white paint

  9. Let to dry thoroughly

  10. Add 1-2 layers of silver paint

  11. Cut the red wool

  12. Use 3 pieces at a time to plait or braid the wool

  13. Glue on the red plaits with a glue gun onto the balloon

  14. Use the scissors to poke four holes in balloon

  15. Cut some yellow string and poke them through the holes in balloon

  16. Tie the yellow string on, then fill with candy or lollies

  17. Get glue gun and tin foil to seal the opening of the balloon

ENJOY YOUR PINATA!! :D

After following the steps to make my pinata

I felt proud of myself because I tried my

best to make and finish the paper mache.

I was really sad when I was going

to smash it,but I LOVED!

Eating and grabbing the candy

at the end .
