Insect Time!

Welcome back everyone to another activity from the Summer Learning Journey, here I have an insect made out of leaf's, flowers and twigs that I found during my bike ride outside. I was trying to make my bug look like a bee but really it looks like a fly that got hit.

So I hope you remember to give me feedback to see how my progress is going! 👍

  1. Kia Ora Fatafehi,

It’s Charlotte again, a commenter for the Manaiakalani Summer Learning Journey. I am very impressed by the insect art that you have completed!

I think that it is amazing that you can make artwork this cool out of materials that you found on your bike ride, I wonder what other pieces of art you could make with things that you find lying around - I would love to see some if you make any!

I think that the artwork you have created is incredible, so I have marked it down as an outstanding post, this means that you will be getting extra points!

I would love to know some more about your thought process and the steps that you did to create this.

  2. Kia ora Fatafehi,

Wow, I am extremely impressed by the insect that you made out of objects from your bike ride! At first glance, I truly did think this was a real insect. You have managed to incorporate all of the things you would find on a normal insect -antenna, arms/legs, a head, eyes and body- and all of these are in the perfect proportion to what we would find on a regular insect!

I noticed how at the very top of your insect you have 2 small green balls. I was wondering what these were, and what part of the insect they were representing?

I can imagine it would have been a very fiddly job assembling all of the pieces together. How long did it take you to put this all together, and did you use anything (such as glue) to stop it from falling apart?

It would be awesome if you could reply to this comment and let me know!

Keep up the awesome work Fatafehi, you’re doing a fantastic job!
